The free museum shuttle cannot be reserved. Plan the station-to-museum queue separately from the return ticket collected at the museum. With a large case, check station storage first.

Allow for a full bus

The museum runs its free shuttle daily for museum guests. It carries 25 passengers, first come without reservations. Museum admission and a fixed onward train do not guarantee space on your preferred bus. Allow for the next departure or another transport option.

Find the Yasugi departure point

The official stop is about 15 m to the right after leaving JR Yasugi Station’s main exit. The direct ride takes about 20 minutes. Add the walk and queue to your arrival plan, and allow for traffic delays. That ride estimate is not a guaranteed train connection.

Collect the return ticket at the museum

For the return to Yasugi, collect tickets for the chosen departure at the museum entrance counter. The English page calls this the lobby and specifies one ticket per traveller. Choose your return time and check collection instructions before exploring. This is separate from station boarding and is not an online seat reservation.

Check luggage storage first

The shuttle has no dedicated baggage storage. On a crowded bus, the driver may refuse large cases; do not put bags on seats. The operator suggests paid station lockers or the tourist-information storage service. Confirm size, price, space and collection hours there. Storing a bag does not secure a shuttle seat.

Use the paid alternative’s own timetable

The Japanese museum page also lists the paid Yellow Bus: ¥200 throughout, half fare for elementary-school pupils. Alight at Saginoyu Onsen–Adachi Bijutsukan-mae (鷺の湯温泉・足立美術館前), about 2 minutes’ walk from the museum. Its stops and departures differ from the free shuttle. Check both directions for your travel date; payment methods and baggage rules have not been established here.

Check current service, not the photograph

The checked shuttle timetable runs from 14 March 2026 until the JR timetable revision in March 2027. Recheck service notices before travelling. The September 2015 garden photograph shows the destination, not a current stop, bus or autumn condition. The museum’s English FAQ permits garden photography but prohibits photographing artworks.
