Before linking Kanazawa’s markets, gardens and teahouse districts in one day, check the routes included in the bus one-day pass. It covers sightseeing loop buses and designated sections of participating regular routes, rather than bundling out-of-town journeys or the night-time Light-up Bus.

Count the bus rides you will actually make

List which sections you will walk and which you will ride between market meals, gardens and teahouse districts. A day pass is not automatically cheaper when you take few buses. Add the current individual fares and compare walking distances and a rainy-day alternative.

Compare the Left Loop and Right Loop

The Kanazawa Loop Bus has Left Loop and Right Loop services. One direction may reach a particular attraction sooner, so compare the official route map with the stop signs. The day pass also covers designated sections of participating regular routes. Do not assume a nearby-looking stop lies within coverage without checking the boundary.

Paper tickets are not sold on the bus

Hokuriku Railroad’s official English guidance states that paper one-day tickets are not sold onboard. Before your first bus, check sales locations and opening hours, and confirm the printed date. Learn how to show the ticket to the driver when getting off. If choosing a smartphone digital ticket, read its separate official usage instructions.

Budget separately for night and out-of-town journeys

This one-day pass cannot be used on the Light-up Bus. Do not assume city-pass pricing covers out-of-town visits such as Shirakawa-go either. Travel beyond the official coverage map requires a separate fare. For evening sightseeing followed by a hotel return, check services on your travel date and choose the final return transport first.

Common questions

Does ¥800 cover every bus around Kanazawa?

Coverage is limited to designated sections of participating routes. Check out-of-town services and the Light-up Bus separately.

If I buy in the afternoon, is it valid until the following afternoon?

No. It is valid for the day shown on the ticket, rather than for 24 hours.
