Metropolitan has a station-building connection; Fresa and Smile serve the Zenkoji-exit side, while Livemax is an east-side candidate. Yama, Shimizuya and Saihokukan offer Gondo, temple-side or central alternatives. Add time for gates, crossings and luggage to operator walking estimates, and calculate your return via the hotel separately.
Temple-side restrictions affect the choice
Shimizuya’s ten-tatami room has shared bathrooms and toilets, check-in by 21:00 and a23:00 curfew. Compare these first if you will return late. A Gondo-side evening and an early train the next morning can favour different locations.
