Museum admission does not secure a simulator place. Separate entry fees, experience choices and on-site sales, and include the Aonami Line return journey in your day.

Who this guide is for: Families and railway visitors combining exhibits with driving or conductor experiences

Budget for admission and experiences separately. If N700 or the conductor simulator matters most, check availability at the information desk on arrival and prepare an exhibit-based visit if tickets sell out.

Calculate admission for each visitor

Individual admission costs 1,200 yen for adults,500 yen for elementary, junior-high and high-school students, and 200 yen for preschool children aged 3 or over. Group and school-trip discounts are separate categories. Date-specific online admission uses a QR code; avoiding the ticket-sales queue does not reserve an experience.

Driving and conductor experiences cost extra

N700 driving costs 500 yen for about 15 minutes; the conventional-train conductor experience also costs 500 yen for about 15 minutes. Conventional-train driving costs 100 yen for about 10 minutes. A same-day museum ticket is needed to buy a simulator ticket. Experience tickets are sold first come, first served and are separate from admission.

Choose between N700 and the conductor simulator

For the N700 and conductor tickets sold at the information desk, the operator asks each person or group to buy one ticket for either experience. Do not plan on buying both. Desk sales is from opening until 17:15, but ends earlier when the allocation sells out. Numbered tickets may be distributed before opening when crowds are expected. Do not assume you can choose your experience time; follow staff instructions.

Check the calendar and return journey

Normal hours are 10:00–17:30, with last admission at 17:00. Tuesday closures have exceptions, including a public-holiday shift, so consult the calendar for your date. Official access estimates are about 24 minutes from Nagoya to Kinjofuto on the Aonami Line, then a two-minute walk. Add transfer and waiting time. The museum has no dedicated car park.

Prepare an exhibit plan if simulators sell out

Rolling-stock displays, the railway diorama and the superconducting-maglev exhibition provide an alternative visit. A free smartphone audio guide supports Korean and English, among other languages; bring earphones and a charged phone. Check visit-day notices because exhibits and operation can change, and leave room before your next reservation.
