Choose a base after a rail arrival by comparing the return for your luggage. Station hotels, Bandai, Furumachi and Toki Messe require different departure plans. The list is not a price or review-score ranking.

For an early train, compare the station connection or walking route. For Bandai, Furumachi or Toki Messe, plan the return journey.
Compare at a glance
| Option | Best fit | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| 1. JR-East Hotel Mets Niigata | Rail travellers prioritising the station connecting passage | Check that the photographed twin arrangement matches the booked product. Allow time from the passage to your platform. |
| 2. Art Hotel Niigata Station | Two guests comparing a double bed at a south-side station base | A 140 cm double differs from two separate beds. Friends should compare an actual twin product. |
| 3. Niigata Toei Hotel | Three guests comparing the size of each bed | The 90 cm extra bed is narrower than the main beds. Compare another type if equal bed sizes matter. |
| 4. Comfort Hotel Niigata | Two guests comparing Bandai-side walking access and double/twin space | Consider the space available for two large suitcases in the 13 m² double. |
| 5. Dormy Inn Niigata Natural Hot Spring | Travellers allowing time for same-day luggage collection | Account for exterior corridors and the eight-minute station walk. Leave time for luggage collection before departure. |
| 6. Juraku Stay Niigata | Extended-stay guests booking a specific room with laundry equipment | Do not assume Standard Double includes the same equipment. Confirm Comfort Double and its listed facilities. |
| 7. Bandai Silver Hotel | Guests comparing a Bandai base and non-smoking tatami-room options | The 32 m² Japanese-Western room is smoking. Tatami in a photograph does not establish non-smoking status. |
| 8. Hotel Nikko Niigata | Travellers combining Toki Messe plans with a station return | The taxi or bus return adds effort if a station-front base is your priority. Standard Single is for one guest. |
| 9. Country Hotel Niigata | Travellers staying in Furumachi and considering a bus to the station | The thirty-minute station walk can be inconvenient with bags before an early train. Economy Twin has no desk. |
| 10. Niigata Park Hotel | Travellers checking a compact south-side twin and arrival cutoff | The 02:30 final check-in and 03:00–05:00 reception closure require separate arrangements for overnight arrivals and early luggage storage. |

Separate a walking departure from a bus return
Compare Mets for the station connection, and Comfort, Toei or Dormy Inn for a walk from the Bandai side. Consider Silver for time in Bandai. Country in Furumachi lists about thirty minutes on foot from the station, so decide whether to use a bus. Nikko is a Toki Messe waterfront base with a different station journey. Official travel estimates depend on the starting point and traffic; allow extra time for bags and crossings.
Match bed count, floor space and smoking policy to one room name
The third bed in Toei’s triple is an extra bed. Comfort’s double and twin differ in size and bed width, while Nikko’s Standard Single is for one guest. Silver’s Japanese-Western room is smoking: tatami in a photo does not establish a non-smoking room. Juraku’s washing machine and microwave description applies specifically to Comfort Double.
Confirm luggage collection and overnight reception
Dormy Inn limits post-check-out luggage storage to the same day. Ask other hotels about storage and collection times rather than assuming the same policy. Park lists a 02:30 final check-in and a reception closure from 03:00 to 05:00, which requires attention for late rail arrivals. Supplier room photographs do not guarantee the booked room type, view or amenities. Compare totals for identical dates, guests, smoking preferences, meals and cancellation conditions.
Before you book
- Station exit and luggage return route
- Adult/child capacity and actual bed count
- Smoking preference, floor area and equipment
- Latest arrival, check-out and luggage service
- Total price and cancellation for identical dates, guests and meals
Common questions
Are all ten hotels beside the station?
No. Country is in Furumachi and Nikko is at the Toki Messe waterfront. Compare the bus, taxi or walking return to the station.
Will I book the room shown in the photograph?
The supplier image is an interior example for that hotel. The booked room type, view and bed arrangement remain unconfirmed; check the product description.
Can two guests share any single room?
Bed size does not determine occupancy. Nikko’s Standard Single, for example, is for one guest. Check the selected plan’s adult and child capacity.
