For Naha monorail travel, the purchase time matters more than the number of calendar dates in your stay. The one-day and two-day passes run for 24 and 48 hours from purchase, so include airport arrival, the following day’s rides and your final journey.

Compare a timed pass when you expect repeated monorail rides. For mostly walking or only a few trips, compare individual fares. The pass clock starts at purchase, not your first ride.

Map the itinerary in hours

An evening airport arrival followed by sightseeing the next afternoon can fit within one 24-hour period, even though it covers two dates. Conversely, buying in the morning and first riding that evening uses up part of the validity while you wait. Buy when ready to start travelling and check the expiry printed on the ticket.

Add only the monorail rides you expect to take

The reviewed adult prices are ¥1,000 for one day and ¥1,800 for two days; child prices are ¥500 and ¥900. Add the individual fares between your planned stations and compare the total. Many attractions on a map do not necessarily mean many rides, especially if you spend a long time walking around Kokusai Street. Confirm fares before purchase.

Keep a budget for travel away from the monorail

The timed pass allows repeated travel at all Yui Rail stations within its validity. It does not cover a bus or taxi to a destination away from the stations. If your trip combines northern Okinawa sightseeing with Naha, plan the road journeys separately.

QR passes and OKICA do different jobs

The operator distinguishes QR timed passes sold at station machines from rechargeable OKICA. OKICA deducts the fare for each journey from your balance. Check tickets or credit for every traveller, and verify any advertised attraction discount with the relevant facility for your visit date.

Common questions

Does a one-day pass expire at midnight?

It is valid for 24 hours from purchase. Use the validity printed on the ticket when planning the last ride.

Is a pass always cheaper than OKICA?

It depends on the routes and ride count. Compare actual monorail fares, excluding walking and journeys on other transport.
