A one-minute subway-exit walk is not a one-minute route to the Shinkansen gate. Compare JR east and west approaches separately from travel inside the station, then check breakfast and overnight entrance procedures against your departure.

Who this guide is for: Travelers staying in Sendai before an early Shinkansen departure
Start with a station connection or a short walk from your chosen JR exit, then confirm access at the actual departure time. Before 6:30am, packing, checkout and reaching the gate matter more than included breakfast.

Separate the station exit from the platform
Published hotel walks refer to a particular exit. Add time for the Shinkansen gate and platform, elevators, crossings and luggage. Walk the route the day before and verify your JR departure and boarding conditions separately.
Compare a rate without an unusable breakfast
A 6:30am or 7am breakfast may be unavailable before your departure. Do not assume you can eat and leave instantly at opening. Compare room-only rates, other food, cancellation deadlines and total cost; takeaway requires hotel confirmation.
Check overnight access and renovation separately
Ask each hotel about entrance access, desk availability, key return and outstanding payment. R&B Hirosedori is undergoing renovation: confirm the completed floor and construction/noise conditions before booking. Historical supplier room images do not establish a renovated layout. Contact the hotel when arrival is much later than booked.
Match the photo with the booked room
These ten properties are editorial selections for departure logistics, not a sales or review-score ranking or first-hand stay review. Supplier room examples do not guarantee your category’s beds, smoking policy, bathroom or area. Match the exact hotel name and address.

- JR east/west versus subway exit

Common questions
Does a one-minute station walk mean a one-minute Shinkansen boarding route?
No. A particular exit estimate excludes the gate, platform, inside-station movement and boarding margin.
Can I take included breakfast on an early train?
Included breakfast does not establish takeaway service. For departures before serving time, compare other food or room-only rates and ask the hotel about packaging.
Which similarly named Sendai properties should I distinguish?
Richmond Sendai and Premier Sendai Ekimae, and Sendai Washington and R&B Hirosedori, are different booking targets. Match the official name, address and exit.
