Match the route to the exit

Highway buses use Mito South Exit bay 4; local buses use North Exit bay 6. Adult one-way fares are JPY 1,500 and JPY 1,190 respectively. Both use airport bay 2. After leaving the terminal, bus stands are to the left. Read the Mito route sign; the historical exterior photo is context, not a current stop map.

Check the operator payment rules

Airport guidance limits card tap payment to Ibaraki Kotsu services. That operator cannot recharge transport IC cards onboard. Local-route child fares differ: JPY 600 cash or JPY 595 IC.

No reservation does not guarantee a seat

Ibaraki Kotsu lists a capacity-limited service without reservations; full buses cannot accept more passengers. Allow another departure and road delays before airline check-in. Do not extend that operator rule to every bus.

Choose the correct timetable period

The official page separates schedules through 24 October and from 25 October. Choose the visit-date table and read each departure’s operator and weekday notes. If airport and operator guidance differs, confirm with the operator before fixing a departure and leave an alternative before airline check-in.
