Single admission and nearby-attraction bundles use different ticket procedures. Sort luggage before joining the keep queue. The repair notice published in October 2026 schedules its restrictions for January–February 2027.

Choose the right ticket queue
Ordinary individual admission costs ¥1,000, or ¥200 for elementary and junior-high pupils; preschool children enter free. Castle-only visitors are directed to machines; combination tickets, exchange vouchers and groups use the staffed counter. Although the castle lists transport IC, supported QR and credit-card payments, combination tickets are cash-only at the counter. Decide your visit scope before queuing.
Leave large bags outside the keep
Suitcases, carry bags and large backpacks are prohibited inside. Official locker locations include beside the ticket office, the castle-front tourist office and outside Meitetsu Inuyama station gates; check space and size. Remove shoes and carry them in a bag. The narrow, steep stairs have no lift, and wheelchair visits inside the keep are not possible. Contact the office in advance about any assistance needed.
Last admission is 16:30; illumination is separate
Opening is 9:00–17:00, with last admission 16:30 and closure 29–31 December. Visits are not reservable. The FAQ’s 30–40 minute visit estimate excludes a busy-season keep queue that can exceed an hour. Illumination runs from sunset until 22:00 except designated lights-out days, but does not permit entry after closing. Plan exterior evening views separately from interior admission.
The Japan Monkey Centre bundle has ended
The tourist association’s 9 October notice ends castle–Japan Monkey Centre zoo bundle sales on 18 October 2026. The zoo closes throughout from 19 October for redevelopment, with reopening undetermined. Adjacent Japan Monkey Park is a separate amusement park. Do not choose the old zoo bundle from an outdated guide; check each facility’s current operation.
The partial fourth-floor work is planned for 2027
The 6 October 2026 notice schedules restrictions for 4 January–28 February 2027, subject to progress. The fourth floor will be partitioned into visitor and work areas, leaving either the eastern or western half accessible; a complete balcony circuit will not be possible. Basement level 2 through floor 3 remain normally visitable, with no admission-price change. This notice does not announce a full castle closure in October 2026.
Use the historical photograph with current notices
百楽兎’s frontal keep photograph was uploaded on 17 August 2007; its exact capture date is unconfirmed. It does not show today’s queue, ticket office or the 2027 repair partitions. During the work, follow staff directions for the fourth-floor one-way route. Check current queues and entry restrictions, and allow time for stairs, bag storage and your return journey.
