Choose a timed e-ticket if you can fix your castle arrival, or compare a same-day paper ticket if deciding on site. The photogenic red bridge is not the visitor entrance: head to Kuromon.

Fix your arrival before buying electronically

Individual e-tickets specify a date and time; paper admission is for that day. Preschool children enter free. E-tickets cannot be cancelled or changed after purchase, so confirm the day and your party before following the purchase route in the official visitor information.

Match the combo to the venues you will use

Castle plus Kaichi School costs JPY 1,600 for adults and 600 for schoolchildren; castle plus City Museum is JPY 1,500 for adults, and castle plus Museum of Art JPY 1,700. These combinations last two days; the adult four-venue ticket is JPY 2,600 and lasts three. Combos are electronic, with timed castle entry. They cover permanent exhibitions: check special-exhibition arrangements, venue-specific age pricing and closing days separately.

Use Kuromon rather than the red bridge

Kuromon, on the south side, is the visitor entrance; the entrance beside red Uzumibashi Bridge is closed. Separate your photograph stop from your entrance route. Normal hours are 08:30–17:00, last entry 16:30, with closure on 29–31 December. Follow the visit-date notice for extended or special openings.

Plan keep stairs and luggage separately

The keep has no lift and cannot be entered in a wheelchair. The FAQ allows strollers to be left at the management office or keep entrance. Small bags can use coin lockers in the grounds; ask about the shop’s larger-bag storage and remove valuables and fragile items. Confirm storage availability before taking a large suitcase to the keep.

Allow time beyond buying your ticket

There are no toilets inside the keep. Use facilities beforehand and prepare to carry your shoes in the supplied bag. Photography near the stairs is prohibited. Buying a ticket does not establish that every queue disappears, so leave room before an onward train or bus.

Common questions

Does the combo cover every art-museum exhibition?

The official information limits combo admission to permanent exhibitions. Check the venue’s separate arrangements for a special exhibition.

Can I enter over the red bridge in the photo?

No. The current official visitor entrance is Kuromon, while the red-bridge-side entrance is closed. The photograph records the exterior in 2024.
