A bridge crossing and a hilltop castle visit require different tickets and time allowances. You cannot change a purchased bridge ticket into the set, so check the weather, remaining time and ropeway operation before paying.

Use the September revision

The city’s 1 September 2026 schedule lists bridge admission at ¥500 for junior-high pupils and older, or ¥250 for elementary pupils; the set is ¥1,550 or ¥700. Preschool children are free. No one-way bridge fare is offered. Do not budget using old ¥300 bridge prices or older set prices.

Compare the actual facilities you need

A return ropeway ticket costs ¥900 for adults or ¥400 for elementary pupils. Castle entry is ¥350 or ¥200. With bridge admission, separate purchases total ¥1,750 or ¥850: ¥200 or ¥150 above the set. The set is not automatically better if you will skip the castle or ropeway.

Check the 29 October closure

The operating table updated on 8 October lists all-day ropeway and castle closures on 29 October and 26 November 2026. Interruptions from 14:00 are scheduled for 23 and 31 December. Check the bridge separately; do not plan to use the complete set on a maintenance day.

Calculate backwards from castle entry

The castle opens 09:00–16:45, with admission until 16:30. Ropeway hours are 09:00–17:00, at 15-minute intervals; the final departure is 17:00 in both directions. Add walking, castle viewing and the downhill queue to the roughly three-minute ride. The official 90–120-minute estimate for all three facilities does not guarantee a rushed late visit.

Night bridge access does not open the castle

The official bridge page describes 24-hour access, payment into the farebox when counters are unattended and illumination switching off at 22:00. High water, heavy rain or strong winds can close the bridge. Check current restrictions instead of extending those hours to the castle or ropeway.

Consider steps and bag collection

The city FAQ describes stairs across the central second-to-fourth bridge sections and no lift inside the castle. Discuss a suitable route if anyone needs mobility assistance. Collect stored bags within the storage facility’s hours before an evening bridge walk. The photograph records the bridge exterior in 2022, not current access conditions.
