Entry after 17:00 does not mean you can still buy an attraction pass or use every attraction. Choose your arrival time and intended activities before selecting admission.

Who this guide is for: Visitors arriving in Kyoto later in the day who need to compare film-village admission and paid activities

Check dated attraction sales and reception cutoffs first. Night admission does not replace a separate attraction pass or eligibility checks.

Choose day or night admission by arrival time

The listed 1 DAY window is 10:00–21:00; night admission starts at 17:00. Junior-high students and adults pay JPY 2,800 or 2,000; ages three through elementary school pay JPY 1,600 or 1,300. Under-threes enter free. These published rates apply before the spring 2027 second-phase opening and may vary by visit date. Night admission does not provide early entry.

Admission and paid activities are separate

Compare the JPY 1,500 attraction pass with your intended activities. Check its official coverage; SHINOBORI climbing is excluded. If you only want one JPY 600 activity and one JPY 800 activity, their JPY 1,400 total is below the pass price. The pass becomes a different choice when you have time and eligibility for more included activities.

Night arrivals need a sales-cutoff check

Normal pass sales end at 16:00 and final attraction reception at 17:30. October weekends and public holidays list sales until 19:00 and reception until 20:30, except 3, 12 and 17 October. Reception can change with crowding. Do not assume normal-day pass sales remain available when night entry begins at 17:00. The puzzle activity has a separate 21:00 listing.

Check restrictions for each family member

Age, height, clothing and accompanying-person restrictions depend on the activity. Buying a pass does not establish eligibility for everything. Check preschool accompaniment and your companions’ usable activities in the official table before comparing individual purchases. The FAQ also says there is no attraction fast pass.

Plan around no reentry and partial closures

Reentry is unavailable, so finish outside dining or sightseeing before entering if you want to combine them. Tuesdays are normally closed except public holidays and March, April and November. Some areas close at 18:00. Shows can change with weather, filming or cast availability. A 21:00 park closing time does not establish every area’s or activity’s hours.

Confirm final entry and the entrance you will use

The official homepage lists 19:00 final entry while the FAQ lists 20:00. The pricing page gives a 60-minutes-before-closing rule and separate studio-entrance cutoffs with October exceptions. For a late arrival, confirm dated information and the intended entrance with the operator instead of planning to one unqualified time.

Read date changes before buying online

The official online-ticket FAQ says tickets cannot be cancelled. Unused tickets may be rescheduled through the purchase-confirmation email link by the day before the current designated visit date; same-day and later changes are unavailable. Choose a new date within 90 days of the original designated date. If prices differ, pay for the new-date ticket first; the original amount is refunded after that payment. Third-party sellers may have different conditions.

Common questions

Does night admission keep all activities open late?

No. Attraction sales and reception follow separate schedules. Check the dated October exceptions and each activity’s restrictions.

Can I leave for a meal and reenter?

The official FAQ says reentry is unavailable. Arrange outside meals before or after your visit.

Can I cancel an official online ticket?

No. For an unused ticket, read date-change conditions: apply by the day before its current designated date and select within 90 days of the original date.
