Choose the correct starting station

Iyotetsu lists route 5 from JR Matsuyamaekimae at about 25 minutes and route 3 from Matsuyamashi at about 20 minutes. These are different stations. Match your hotel to the correct tram stop; operator estimates do not guarantee arrival including walks and waiting.

Check the return destination

Route 3 connects Dogo with Matsuyamashi; route 5 serves JR Matsuyamaekimae. Choose the return destination for your hotel or onward JR train. The photographed route 3 display records a past scene, not today’s vehicle or frequency.

Cash and IC fares differ

Checked adult fares are 250 yen cash or 230 yen transport IC; child fares 130 or 120 yen. Two adults making a return trip pay 1000 yen cash or 920 yen using their own IC cards. This covers four ordinary rides, not a tourist train or special ticket.

Tap once, when leaving

City-tram boarding needs no IC tap. Tap the reader at the exit. One card cannot pay for multiple people. If balance is insufficient, the operator says to top up or pay the entire fare in cash; a partial cash supplement is not available.

Prepare exact cash

Press the stop button before your stop and stand after the tram stops completely. The farebox does not return change, so use the change machine first. It does not accept 5000 or 10000 yen notes; carry small notes or coins.

Check app conditions before relying on them

Nationwide transport IC cards including ICOCA and Suica are listed. Mican requires a smartphone contracted with a Japanese domestic phone number; access for a Korean-number-only visitor was not assumed. Final services, wheelchair boarding and actual departures need travel-day checks.
