Narita’s free terminal shuttle is separate from a paid bus to Tokyo. At T2, buses for T3 and T1 use different stops. Establish whether you are in the pre-security public area before comparing a bus with the T2–T3 walking corridor.

Who this guide is for: Travelers moving from Airport Terminal 2 Station to T3 or between terminals in the public area

From T2, distinguish stop 1 for T3 from stops 8 and 18 for T1. Walking from Airport Terminal 2 Station to T3 is also possible. A bus ride estimate is not a complete flight-connection allowance.

Public-area and international transit buses are separate

Free pre-security shuttles and international airside transit buses have different procedures and boarding points. Do not use international bus-gate numbers 28, 59 or 70 as the public-area stops in this guide. Some airlines require immigration and may not permit use of the transit bus; check the airline’s connection instructions first.

Choose your destination before joining a queue at T2

Official information identifies stop 6 at T1, stop 1 for T3 and stops 8/18 for T1 at T2, and stops 2/3 at T3. The international-to-domestic guide directs T3 passengers for T1 to stop 3; T2 can be reached by the corridor or a bus. Confirm the vehicle destination and signs rather than relying on a number alone.

The loop direction changes the ride time

The all-terminal loop runs T1→T3→T2. Listed rides are about 14 minutes T1→T3, 3 minutes T3→T2 and 10 minutes T2→T1. The T2–T3 route takes about 6 minutes outbound to T3 and 3 minutes back. Add road delays, waiting and inside-terminal movement to these riding estimates.

Check the endpoints of the 13-minute walk

The corridor estimate is about 13 minutes from Airport Terminal 2 Station’s ticket gates to the T3 departure information counter on floor 2, or from the T3 arrival information counter on floor 1 to the station gates. It does not include the platform, movement beyond the information counter or check-in procedures. Allow extra time for luggage, walking pace and construction changes.

A bus from the station still leaves a departure-floor transfer

For a T3 bus from Airport Terminal 2 Station, go up to floor 1 and follow the blue passage to stop 1. At T3, follow signs to the floor 2 departure area. Reaching a railway ticket gate is not reaching airline check-in. Consult airport guidance if you need an elevator route or mobility assistance.

A free ride does not complete a flight connection

International-to-domestic passengers must complete immigration at their arrival terminal and undergo domestic security after check-in. Check airline deadlines and baggage arrangements. This guide does not promise unconfirmed first/last departures or a successful connection: recheck travel-date operation and stop-specific departure information. The bus photograph records its appearance in 2020.

Common questions

Does T3 have its own railway ticket gate?

The airport describes access between Airport Terminal 2 Station and T3 on foot or by free bus. Allow movement beyond the railway gates before a T3 departure.

Can an international transit passenger simply switch to a public-area bus?

Immigration, transit screening and bus eligibility depend on the airline and itinerary. Do not change your transit procedure using only public-area stop information.
