Allow separately for the exit and Shinkansen gate
JR West’s map dated 20 August 2026 distinguishes the east Korakuen exit, west Undokoen exit, second-floor Shinkansen entrances A/B and conventional-line central gate C. A hotel walking estimate ends before platform access. Save the route from the hotel entrance to the Shinkansen gate the night before.
Settle the direction and ticket collection beforehand
The official platform guide lists 21/22 toward Hiroshima and Kagoshima-Chuo, and 23/24 toward Shin-Osaka and Tokyo. Confirm your train on the departure board. Use JR’s date-specific lookup for your destination and booked service rather than memorizing a fixed first departure.
Choose your hotel departure time before breakfast
Verified starts are 6:00 at Granvia; 6:30 at ANA, Koraku, Toyoko, Smile and Kuretake; 6:30 on weekdays and 7:00 on weekends/holidays at Daiwa; and 7:00 at Makibi. Current starts at MYSTAYS and LiVEMAX were not established. For an earlier train, compare room-only rates and food prepared the night before.
Late arrival and early departure have different rules
Koraku documents no curfew and 24-hour reception; LiVEMAX requires first-day arrival by 23:00. Other overnight doors and link opening hours are not asserted as 24-hour access. Ask about delay notification, the open entrance, early settlement and key return at your booked hotel.
