When visiting the National Palace Museum in Taipei, select Northern Branch in the official sales list. Southern Branch tickets have a different location and price, and ordinary Northern Branch QR tickets differ from special-exhibition products with separate reservations.

For a Taipei visit, check age, identification and validity against Northern Branch tickets. If a particular exhibition or collection item is your priority, read its display and reservation guidance before buying ordinary admission.

Decide between the Northern and Southern branches
The official sales site lists both Northern Branch and Southern Branch products. A cheaper Southern Branch ticket does not admit you to the same location when your itinerary is for Taipei’s Northern Branch. Compare the branch name, address and exhibition title on the booking screen. For a multi-museum itinerary, record each venue’s location and travel time separately.
Prepare evidence for children’s free admission
The official ordinary Northern Branch ticket for foreign visitors is TWD350. Visitors under 18 can select free admission regardless of nationality. The product asks for valid identification. Compare the child’s age before payment and read the display and verification procedure for a free ticket. Citizen or residence-related discounts are not automatically the same as the ordinary foreign-visitor rate.
Separate ordinary QR admission from special-exhibition reservations
The official list reviewed for the original guide contains ordinary Northern Branch admission and a separate product bundling branch admission with a special-exhibition reservation. Do not assume an ordinary ticket automatically secures every special-exhibition time. Compare the exhibition name, date and any time selection in the intended product. Collection items rotate, so an old photograph does not establish that an item will be displayed on your date.
Track the 30-day validity and order confirmation separately
The ordinary Northern Branch ticket information reviewed for the original guide specifies validity for 30 days after purchase and scanning the QR code at a designated entrance. Unused online tickets can be refunded online without a fee; used tickets are not refundable. For a distant visit date, calculate whether an early purchase will still be valid. Check the latest opening notices and temporary changes before departure.
